Greetings from Canada,
I am organizing a Winter Camp for our group. The theme of our camp will be International Scouting. One of our groups will be using your Longship Scout Group image to represent their team. I'll send you some pictures, or put them up on our site...
tak, tak...
To Ben,
Ne. of the 9th. Wallington (& any ther interested parties).
When the introduction of the Explorer Scout Section came in, within a few months 14 of our 17 Troup members had become Explorer Scouts. As such they were on the District head count & not that of the Group.
As you will understand, a Group cannot run with just 3 members. So, the then District Commissioner pulled the preverbial plug.
The three Scouts joined the 1st. North Wallington and the Explorers re-located to the 1st. Beddington's H.Q. along with myself.
After a short while all but two of these were actively 'out doing the job'. I was then asked if I would help support the Leadership Team at the 11th. Wallington St. Elpheges Scout Group.
Well long story short, I'm now their Scout Leader.
My name's Paul & I followed Chris as the A.S.L., then moved on to S.L. prior to filling the G.S.L. space after Lynn, at the 9th. Wallington.
Hi there, I used to be a member of the 9th Wallington / 41st Oslo Longship scout group when I was at WCGS (which I left for uni in 2000-2001). I made a few penpals way back then and was wondering if a database was ever set up so that maybe I could catch up with them again?
I only just read that the 9th wallington troop closed down, and it is quite upsetting, many freinds made and good times were shared there, Rod Searle, his Son Chris and many others put their lifeblood into that troop!
mail me if you know of a way to catch up with our previous norwegian freinds (of the 41st Olso).
